Paws the frantic google searching- we have a solution.

 A big hello to you indeed! Welcome to Dog with a Blog- starring Clover, written by Rebecca. Over the fantastic 18 months Clover and I have shared together, it became clear to me how massively inconvenient it is to find good groomers, dog friendly restaurants etc. I learned very quickly that this would initially be a process of trial and error. When I adopted Clover I had the full intention of taking her on holidays, days out and generally having her by my side when I could. When it comes to finding great places to take her, I'm always struggling to find somewhere really  good. escape to the wild with your furry friend!

 let's get outta here- vacationing with your dog anyone? When life gets you down- it isn't uncommon for you to feel the need to escape! But for us dog owners, the dog-mum guilt gets REAL!  Sure, it isn't very appealing or simple to imagine taking your dog to a 4 star holiday resort in Turkey, but there are plenty of holidays for you and your pet for when you do want to take your dog away with you. Personally, Clover and I have been on a good number of vacations together since I got her. Especially in the era of the Covid-19 Pandemic, staycations became all the rage! Seeing as we were booking a staycation, I couldn't come up with many reasons not to take Clover. When researching online, there were plenty of dog friendly accommodations so it ended up being a very easy process to organise.   If you’re a dog owner, you likely take your dog out a few times a day,  everyday.  So… have a think to yourself, are you making the most of it?   I always acknowledge the fact that taking my dog a walk is of course a necessity, but it doesn’t have to be a chore. It is a time you and your dog should be able to enjoy together, and who knows- you might find it is your favourite part of your day.   To your dog, their walk is the most exhilarating, stimulating, and enjoyable time. They need it for more than just exercise, they also need to sniff and explore the outside world (more than just the inside of your lovely home).   In this case, shouldn’t we be making sure that every walk counts? just an inch off the end- PLEASE!

Groomers. You either love them or you fear them with all your life. Maybe you're lucky and your pup doesn't need anything more than a nail clip and a bath. However, for a lot of pups, the transformation from a groom can completely change the appearance of your dog- so it's important that you take them somewhere you trust. Now I won't lie- Clover has had some BELTERS of a groom, ones I can't even look her in the eye because I know she hates me type of grooms but we have learned our lesson well. Clover is a Cockapoo, meaning she is half poodle, half cocker spaniel. According to the internet, I was recommended to brush her coat every day and to have her properly trimmed every few weeks (either by myself or a professional). Initially, I looked online for groomers in my local area that had good ratings for her first puppy groom (really a session just to get her clean and tidy, whilst getting used to being groomed).  Have you ever been on a dog walk and been hit with a sudden hankering for a coffee? I'm sure it's happened to plenty of us, but how many places in your local area would allow your dog in for a treat as well? Before I even adopted Clover I had dreams of taking my wee dog out on little dates for coffee and puppuccinos. I had NO idea however, just how difficult this venture would become. You see, taking your dog out for a meal isn't usually as simple as a spur of the moment decision to go. Most places just now do not allow dogs for many reasons, and the ones that do are usually rather busy. Here are Clover's top tips for going on a successful doggy date for food: PLAN AHEAD!
